The House of Beltrami

The story begins where the cloth does, in the Seriana valley, Italy.

Beltrami opened its first workshop in 1965 in Cene, where the textile trade grew from the land itself: water from the river to drive the mills, and a culture that learned to read a natural fibre by hand. From that workshop the house grew into a maker of linen for the bed, the bath and the table, working for high hôtellerie, spa, yachting, banqueting and private homes.

The making

The whole of the making happens in Italy. Yarns are selected and woven on the house's own looms, flat and terry alike, and every piece is cut and sewn by hand in a sewing department a few steps from where it was woven. Holding every stage under one discipline is what lets a piece keep its hand and its composure through use, washing, and time.

The measure has never moved. Everything the house makes is still decided at the point of touch.
